Is the tour available every day?
This tour runs from Thursday to Monday, as Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Is there an age restriction for this tour?
Please note that children under 6 years old are not allowed to enter the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary. If you are planning to join the tour with a child under 6, please take this into account when booking. Let us know if you have any questions or need assistance!
Does the tour include tickets?
Please note that the tour cost does not include all entrance fees, such as the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary entrance fee and the Calgary Tower admission fee. These tickets are not covered by the tour price and should be purchased separately.
Is this a private tour?

Is there a minimum group size?
Yes, the minimum group size for this tour is 3 people. If the minimum number is not met, we will inform you in advance and offer an alternative itinerary or date. Please keep an eye out for the messages we send.
Can I interact with the wolfdogs at the sanctuary?
Please note that this tour is the Sanctuary Walk tour, which does not include direct interaction with the wolfdogs. If you'd like to have a more interactive experience, including feeding the wolfdogs, please refer to our another tour, which includes this activity(interact tour) at the sanctuary. What should you be mindful of at the Yamnuska Wolfdog sanctuary?
- No dogs are permitted on the Sanctuary grounds at any time. This includes service dogs and dogs in the parking lot.
- No smoking is permitted on the Sanctuary grounds (including the parking lot).
- Children are not allowed to run, wander, or behave loudly on the Sanctuary grounds. In order to ensure a stress-free environment for the wolfdogs, children must be monitored at all times and kept close by.
- Please ensure that you dress for the weather as you will be outside for the duration of the tour, and wear appropriate footwear as this is a walking tour. On cold winter days, we highly recommend snow pants, gloves, a toque and a warm coat! We kindly ask you not to wear any fur products.
- Loud or unruly behaviour towards the wolfdogs will not be tolerated. Visitors must not whistle, call or otherwise heckle the wolfdogs. Visitors must be respectful of the wolfdogs and the facility at all times (i.e. do not throw things into the enclosures, do not climb over fences, do not go through restricted areas).
Is tipping required during the tour
While tipping is not mandatory, a small cash service fee of CAD $15 per guest is customary. This is a way to thank your guide or driver for their hard work throughout the day. We greatly appreciate your understanding and generosity!
