Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 8, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By booking a tour with Banff Journey (“we”, “our”, or “us”) or using banffjourney.org, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before booking. Banff Journey is operated from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

2. Booking & Payment

A booking is confirmed once full payment is received and a confirmation email or message has been sent. Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). We reserve the right to correct pricing errors and will notify you before processing payment. Most tours require a minimum of 4 participants to operate. We recommend contacting us the day before to confirm departure; if a tour doesn’t meet the minimum, we offer a full refund or transfer to another available date.

3. Cancellations & Refunds

More than 24 hours before departure: full refund, no questions asked (cancel via WhatsApp or email). Within 24 hours: non-refundable, though we’ll try to reschedule based on availability. No-show: no refund. If Banff Journey cancels due to weather, road closures, safety concerns, force majeure, hostilities, strikes, quarantine, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control, you receive a full refund or the option to rebook at no additional charge. Upon notifying passengers of such a cancellation, Banff Journey is released from all further liabilities and obligations related to that tour.

4. Itinerary & Schedule Changes

Itineraries are a guide only. Banff Journey reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to cancel, shorten, or modify any tour in situations including: force majeure, hostilities, accidents or other circumstances beyond our control; weather or road conditions that, in our reasonable opinion, make the itinerary unsafe or impractical; and wildlife activity, Parks Canada directives, or access restrictions. Our guides will make every effort to substitute destinations of equal or greater interest.

5. Liability & Assumption of Risk

Guided outdoor tours involve inherent risks including uneven terrain, wildlife encounters, adverse weather, and physical exertion. By booking you acknowledge these risks. Banff Journey assumes no responsibility for injuries, damages, losses, accidents, delays, inconveniences or irregularities suffered as a result of sickness, weather, strikes, war, quarantine, changes in advertised schedules, or the actions or failures of any third-party service provider. Our liability is limited to the price of the tour booked, except where loss or injury is caused by our gross negligence. We carry appropriate public liability insurance.

6. Personal Belongings

Personal belongings are carried entirely at the passenger’s own risk at all times. Banff Journey accepts no responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged personal items.

7. Guest Eligibility & Conduct

Children: guests under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times; please mention car-seat or booster requirements when booking. Identification: photo ID may be required on the day. Health & fitness: guests are responsible for ensuring they are fit to participate; please inform us of any health conditions or mobility limitations at booking. Conduct: we reserve the right to remove any guest whose behaviour is disruptive, dangerous or harmful to others, without refund.

8. Photography & Media Consent

By participating, guests accept that we may record video and take photographs during the tour for promotional content across our website and social platforms. If you don’t wish to appear, notify your guide at the start of the tour.

9. Health & Safety

Guests must follow all safety instructions. Banff Journey reserves the right to refuse or remove any guest who poses a risk to health and safety. A liability waiver may be required on the day for certain activities.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and applicable federal laws of Canada. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta.
